Sofia is the capital city of Bulgaria. The city is located in the southern part of the Sofia valley and at the foot of the mountains Vitosha and Lyulin. Founded seven thousand years ago, Sofia is the second oldest city in Europe.
There are a number of monuments that have been preserved, such as the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, the Public Theatre Ivan Vazov, the Palace of Justice and the churches St.George and St.Sofia. In Sofia there is the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, the Public Library, as well as theatres and museums.
The city has several beautiful parks and has views of the Vitosha mountains.
From the Airport:
- Take bus 84 or 284
- Get off at the last stop at Vassil Levski blvd.
From the Central Bus & Train stations:
- Take trams 1 or 7 for 6 stops
- Get off at Vitosha blvd.
