Kalavasos Village Kalavasos is one of Tochni’s neighbouring villages, only 3 km away. The attractive village square is a place where residents and visitors mix and meet, for a friendly chat in the shops, a drink in a coffee shop, or a meal in one of the traditional taverns. During the day, a swimming pool awaits our guests, and in the evenings, the stone-paved roads and mild temperatures will tempt you to stroll under the stars. A "Cyprus Villages" office is also nearby, ready to offer any assistance or information you might need. Just outside Kalavasos, a family-run horse farm is worth a visit, and offers you the opportunity to explore the nature trails in the region on horseback.
Drapia Farm, a horse farm run by Marisa Potamiti, is located in a valley about 2 km outside the village of Kalavasos village. Surrounded by the lush greenery of orange groves, the farm is home to a total of 10 well-groomed Arabians, Appaloosas and Thoroughbreds that can be ridden in western and English style.
Whether you are a novice or an experienced rider, Drapia Farm offers you the unique opportunity to enjoy the Cypriot countryside on horseback.
Riding lessons and 1 to 2-hour trails for beginners will introduce you to the wonderful experience of horse riding, in a most inspiring environment.
More experienced riders can join us for half or full day tours as we ramble through a peaceful landscape dominated by fields and hills.
Directions to Tochni Village reception center from Larnaka Airport:
As you leave the airport you will find a round-about - turn left and drive to the first set of traffic lights. Turn right. Coming towards the round-about you keep to the very left lane which will lead you to the highway B1 to Lemesos. Half way towards Lemesos the high way B1 will turn into highway A1.
Drive on the high way A1. Turn out on exit 14, sign posted “Chirokitia-Tochni-Psematismenos-Maroni-1000m”. As you leave the highway turn right at the junction, follow the road under the bridge until the next junction at which you turn right again. After passing the petrol station there is an archaeological site and there you must turn right direction Choirokitia-Layia and then immediately left where there is a small church and a sign to Tochni Village. Keep driving straight on until you see the sign for Tochni Tavern, turn right here and then first left and straight up to the car park of Tochni Tavern.
At the end of the car parking area near the fence there is a stair case leading to the tavern/pool area where you will see the Cyprus Villages reception sign (after 11:00 pm press the bell on the reception sign). Walking down the stairs you will find our "Tochni Tavern" and "Cyprus Villages" reception. Here you will be met by our representative who will welcome and escort you to you’re your village/apartment. The keys to the apartments are always left in the apartment doors.
