Marco Polo Top HostelOur central location close to the subway, our friendly and professional staff, our great rates and the extra services distinguishes us from any other hostel in Budapest. The historical facade hides modernly equipped rooms and a lively atmosphere, ideal for the young and the young-at-heart. Our double/twin rooms are quiet, private and feature telephone and TV, plus an en-suite bathroom. These can also be taken as single rooms and some of them as triples – triple rooms are all twins with an extra bed. Our quadruple rooms are bright, comfy and also feature TV, telephone and an en-suite bathroom. There are large numbered lockers and all towels and bedding are provided. All those travelling on a tight budget can book a bed in our dormitory rooms. There is a luggage room and a bicycle storage. The front desk is open 24 hours and there is no curfew or lock-out.

Rooms

Our double/twin rooms are quiet, private and feature telephone and TV, plus en-suite bathroom. Perfect for travelers in need of a little luxury. These can also be taken as single rooms and some of them as triples – triple rooms are all twins with an extra bed. Our quad rooms are bright, comfy and also feature TV, telephone and en-suite bathroom. These are ideal for families or small groups of friends who wish to stay together. There are large numbered lockers and all towels and bedding are provided. We could not yet manage to find anything to compare to our 5 dormitory rooms in quality in similar category accommodations. Nor only are they spacious meticulously clean and well-kept but each 12-bed room is divided into 2-bunk areas with their own large lockable cupboards. Each dorm is next to a dedicated bathrooms with two sinks, showers and WC’s.

Travel information

From Keleti railway station: Meet our agents on most of the International trains or visit our office in Keleti railway station, where we can arrange your free transport to our hostel (07:00 to 19:00) or use public transport: - Go one stop by subway (red line, no 2) to Blaha Lujza tér and walk 3 minutes to Nyár utca. - Or take bus no 7 from the station, get off at Blaha Lujza tér and walk to Nyár utca. From Déli railway station: - Go 6 stops on the subway (red line, no 2) to Blaha Lujza tér and walk 3 minutes to Nyár utca. From Nyugati railway station: - Take tram no 4 to Blaha Lujza tér and walk 3 minutes to Nyár utca From the Budapest Ferihegy Airport: - Take the Airport Minibus to the hostel.

Area information

The hostel is centrally located, close to historic sights and the nightlife venues. Those wishing to venture out of the hostel can enjoy the pubs and clubs which are within walking distance. All points of the city can be easily reached be bus, subway or tram. The hostel is about 15 minutes away from both the eastern and the western railway station, and around 40 minutes' ride from the airport. Across the road from the Hostel there is currently construction work taking place.

Hotel policies

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

No deposit will be charged. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

18 % VAT is included.  Service charge is not applicable.  City/tourist tax is included. 

Meal Plan

Continental breakfast costs EUR 2 per person per night.  Breakfast is not included, breakfast menu is available and costs vary. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 6 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  All children under 6 years stay free of charge for extra beds.  All children from 6 to 12 years are charged 50 % of the room stay per night per person for extra beds.  All older children or adults are charged 100 % of the room stay per night per person for extra beds.  Maximum capacity of extra beds in a room is 1.  Maximum capacity of babycots in a room is 2.
