The Western Hotel is perfectly located for exploring Galway city with all major attractions only minutes away, including the famous Eyre Square. By Bus or Train:
Galway’s train and bus stations are located in the city centre, just a three minute walk from The Western Hotel. On exiting the station, turn left to head towards Eyre Square. Stay on the right of the square, passing the NTL offices on the right. Turn right at Richardson’s pub on the corner and proceed up Prospect Hill. We are located on the top of this hill on your left.
By Car:
- As you approach Galway follow the signs for the city centre and continue towards Eyre Square.
- We suggest you head straight to our car-park.
- Right before you reach our hotel you will see a small set of traffic lights. The road will provide you with two options: one to turn left towards Eyre Square and another to turn right down a small street (St Bridget’s Terrace) Turn right down this street, then the next left down the Cul de Sac.
- Our underground car park is located at the end of the Cul de Sac.
By Plane:
Galway Airport is located at Carnmore, just 8 km north of the city. Note there is no bus service at this airport, therefore we recommend you use the car hire service, or use one of the many taxis available for hire at the airport. Approximate taxi fare to Galway city is EUR 15.
