National Forest Park (1 km) - The National Forest Park offers many fine walks, as well as an abundance of flora and fauna. St. Finbarr's Hermitage (1 km) - St. Finbarr started his hermitage on the island in Gougane Barra Lake. The nearby island contains the ruins of St. Finbarr's hermitage, where many people come to experience the peace, tranquillity and Holiness of the place.

By Car: - The hotel's car can meet you off the train, boat or plane to take you directly to the hotel. - The hotel is 32 km (20 miles) from Glengarriff and 55 km (34 miles) from Killarney. - Gougane Barra, lying in a Corrie Valley between the Derrynasaggart and Shehy Mountain Ranges, is 2 km (1.25 miles) from the main route (R584), which runs between the towns of Macroom and Bantry in the county of Cork.
