Damonté villa, today is a hotel of
tranquility, and what about yesterday? Yesterday, it was a villa with a
mixture of Arab, Berber and Andalusian architectures. It was constructed
at the beginning of the twentieth century and was situated at the time
halfway between the city (Essaouira) and the first Hahas village (El
Ghazoua). Not only does it benefit from its proximity to the city but also
from the advantages of the countryside (forest all around) and above all
from the beautiful smell coming from the sea. What a lot of feasts and
ceremonies that were celebrated since its construction! And it was still
the spot where people of Mogador used to meet in total friendliness
without religious distinction or racial discrimination.
In the big garden (currently the hotel
patio) and in the shade of the arcade where a melody was sung by a
beautiful fountain; where caftans and evening dresses swished to the sound
of music of different sorts: Andalusian, Melhoun, classic and European.
What harmony!
In a setting composed of 30 rooms, of which
6 mini suites and 2 suites with showers, bathrooms and private terraces,
the hotel manager and the personnel welcome their nice clientele.
An original decoration in every room where
tradition and modernism blend to perfection: Tadellakt, Fassi Zellige (of
Fez), pieces of furniture in juniper and wrought iron.
If you like to relax while reading, a
reading room is available for you.
The Moroccan lounge with a fireplace at the corner is an ideal place for
pleasant conversations
Around the patio you can taste tea with
fresh mint and savor some delicious Moroccan pastry.
Around the swimming pool, you will be able
to enjoy long moments of relaxation sipping tea with mint and savoring
