Palácio BelmonteThe hotel is located beneath the walls of Castelo São Jorge, Palácio Belmonte, the oldest complex in Lisbon. Parts of it date from 1449. In 1997 The Palácio Belmonte was registered as a national monument. In October 2000, the regeneration project received international acknowledgement by being presented with the the RICS Award (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors). Besides its 11 luxury suites, Palácio Belmonte offers several public places including a library, living rooms with fireplaces, garden and outdoor swimming pool.

Rooms

All suites are decorated in a unique contemporary style, featuring furniture from the 17th through to the 21st century. Marvel at the old tile decorations from the 15th and 17th century found throughout the building. Each suite is named after a well-known personality from Portuguese history.

Area information

Appreciate the view of the river from the hotel building or take a romantic stroll along its banks. Located in Lisbon’s oldest and most intriguing neighbourhood – Alfama – the Palácio Belmonte is within walking distance of many historic sights. Pay a visit to Sé Cathedral, Santo António Church or St. Jorge Castle. Also worth a visit are Lisbon’s largest open square – Terreiro do Paço, the Baixa/Chiado shopping area and Feira da Ladra, a market which is held twice a week. Music enthusiasts can discover Portugal’s most influential music – the Fado – at the Fado Museum.

Travel information

Driving directions from the airport : - Head in the direction of Lisbon centro / zona portuaria. - By Infante Dom Henrique Street, with the river on your left, you will reach Praça do Comercio (square). - Follow the signs that say Castelo São Jorge or Castelo / Sé. - Palacio Belmonte is situated 50 metres before the entrance of the castle.

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled up to 15 days before date of arrival, the first night will be charged.  If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

100 percent of the first night will be charged on the day of booking and is non-refundable. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

5 % VAT is included.  Service charge is included.  City/tourist tax is not applicable. 

Meal Plan

Breakfast is included in the room rate. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.  All children from 3 to 12 years are charged EUR 50.00 per night and person for extra beds.  All older children or adults are charged EUR 100.00 per night and person for extra beds.  Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.
