The province of Dalarna is situated just in the middle of Sweden, 200 kilometres north of Stockholm. It is a region that offers, both in summer and in winter, all kinds of sporting, creative and cultural activities in this Scandinavian country. Twenty kilometres north of Ludvika, beautifully surrounded by Lake Bysjön and Lake Björken you will find the little village of Grangärde.
Grangärde once was a trading-town, especially known for the exploration of silver and iron. Nowadays, it is a little, quiet village surrounded by beautiful nature.
With a filled rucksack one can follow a trail through the woods, the area of lynxes, bears, elks, deer, foxes, wolves and hundreds of kinds of birds.
Deep in the woods you can walk the 'kyrkstigen', the former wild footpaths of the people who came walking over the hills to go to church in Grangärde.
Listen to real silence and try to forget the noise of traffic, planes and radios.
