Getting there by Private Transportation
Breiten is quickly and easily accessible by private car at any time of year. The route to Breiten, where adequate parking facilities are available, leads from Milan over the Simplon Pass (open all year round); from Geneva along the Lake of Geneva and through the Rhone Valley; from Basle/Berne via the Lötschberg (Kandersteg-Goppenstein) motorail service; from Zurich, Eastern and Central Switzerland via the Furka (Realp-Oberwald) motorail service. You drive to Brig and then direction Furka to Mörel (not Ried-Mörel!). In the middle of the village, beside the cable-car station the street turns north up direction Goppisber-Betten-Breiten. After 1 km you arrive at our hotel. Another option, in summer, is to take an enjoyable drive over the Grimsel, Furka and Nufenen alpine passes, all of which are open from the beginning of June until the end of October.
Getting there by public transportation
Swiss Railways runs comfortable, high-speed, train services direct to Brig from Basle, Berne, Zurich and Geneva, as well as Milan and other European cities.
Passengers change at Brig to the Matterhorn-Gotthard Railway service to Mörel or take a taxi from the station in Brig (ca. CHF 30).
If you arrive with the train in Mörel, our hotel car brings you free from charge to the hotel (900 m away).
Mörel is of course also accessible via Goms. Rail services operate from Zurich, Basle, Milan and other departure points to Göschenen, from where Matterhorn-Gotthard Railways runs a service to Mörel via Goms.
