Cosmopolitan Park Hotel is in Old İstanbul, at the heart of two cosmopolitan civilizations, Roman (Byzantine) and Ottoman. This hotel is located between two monumental symbols of these civilizations: Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque. The area is called Sultanahmet for some four hundred years. Sultanahmet is taken from the name of Ahmet I, one of the important sultans of the Ottoman Empire. It was the center of these empires. Almost all the important political events occured in spectacular ways in this area. All major state institutions, palaces, schools, parliaments, churches and mosques, courts, major social spaces such as hippodrome, shopping places, cafes were located here until the republican era in first quarter of the twentieth century. The hotel is 16 km away from the airport.
There are four major sections of the city as the places of interest
1- Old Town: Mostly the region around Sultanahmet and around our hotel
2- Beyoglu, (Pera District)
3- Prince's Islands (suggested only from June through September)
4- Bosphorus, Asian side is a residential area only. Nothing of historic or special interest exist, except the Asian side of Bosphorus. It is nicer to live there since it is quieter compared to European side.
