There is a cafe selling lattes, cappuccinos, homemade cakes and scones until 16:00. The à la carte restaurant is open from 18:00 until 21:00. It was recently nominated as a local food hero on UKTV Food. Group catering our speciality.

Please note that Alston House is a popular venue for functions and it may be advisable to check directly with the hotel whether a function is being held that night because some guests maybe disturbed by the noise. This is only on a Saturday evening.

Area information Alston House is an ideal stopping point for those walking the Pennine Way or cycling the C2C cycleway, or Pennine Cycleway North. Both cycleways run past the front door. The Pennine Way, the 270 mile route, which from the South takes in the Peak District and Yorkshire Dales before reaching Alston Moor, is just two minutes walk from the door so stopping over won’t involve an unwanted detour from your route. For those planning a less strenuous visit to the area there are riverside walks, waterfalls, cycling, horse riding, the highest narrow gauge railway in England, gift shops and potteries.
