Birmingham Botanical Gardens (1.6 km / 1 mile) - first opened in 1832, the gardens now encompass 15 acres of rare and varied plant-life. A bandstand, 2 aviaries and a pavilion provide plenty of interest for visitors.
The Ikon Gallery (2.5 km / 1.5 miles) - showcasing the work of living artists, the Ikon is known for its commitment to displaying contemporary art of various mediums from all over the world.
National Sea Life Centre (2.5 km / 1.5 miles) - over 60 displays of freshwater and marine life, including a 1 million litre ocean tank, housing giant green sea turtles, black tip reef sharks and tropical reef fish.

From the M5:
- Exit the M5 at junction 3 for Birmingham.
- This will bring you onto Hagley Road West (the A456).
- Continue on, passing the rear of Woodbourne Priory Hospital on your right.
- Keep a look out for the hotel just after you pass St Augustine's Road.
