Alba HouseAlba House is a beautiful, detached Victorian villa built around 1860 and set in large, landscaped gardens with many mature trees and ample seating areas. The bedrooms, all en suite, are individually designed with comfort in mind. Each of the spacious bedrooms has retained its Victorian proportions and has either one double (or king-size) bed or twin beds. All bedrooms have been refurbished over the last 6 months. Private parking is available for all guests. Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood Palace, The Scottish Parliament Building, The Festival Theatre, The Playhouse Theatre and The Edinburgh International Conference Centre are all close by. Alba House is also conveniently placed for The Royal Observatory, Edinburgh Royal Infirmary and Edinburgh University; the King's Building is a 5-minute walk away.

Travel information

Take the airport bus to Waverley Station. From Waverley Station, cross Prince's Street to the shops and take any bus from 3, 3A, 37 and 37A to Craigmillar Park. Alternatively, when leaving Waverley Station on Prince's Street, turn right and walk two hundred yards to the North Bridge. Cross to the east side of the North Bridge and take any bus from 7, 8 and 31, in addition to 3, 3A, 37 and 37A to Craigmillar Park. The bus stops outside Alba House and will only take a few minutes in total.

Hotel policies

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled up to 7 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

No deposit will be charged. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

15 % VAT is included.  Service charge is not applicable.  City/tourist tax is not applicable. 

Meal Plan

Continental breakfast is included in the room rate. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 2 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.  Maximum capacity of babycots in a room is 1.  There is no capacity for extra beds in the room.
