The Old Coach House: Three rooms are ground floor and ideal for easier access to the walled car park. Two upstairs bedrooms are pretty and cosy including one family room which has two immediately adjacent singles - perfect for children. The other rooms are found in the Medieval main house.

Hotel details

The Conference/Sun Room overlooks the terrace and walled garden and accommodates up 20 delegates boardroom style or 30 delegates theatre style. There are two breakout rooms adjacent to the Sun Room, which can be provided (notice is required). The walled garden is tailor-made for champagne receptions. Cosy bar and lounge with open fires complete the comfort.

Area information

With its beautiful walled garden, the hotel remains at the heart of Beaminster - one of the most perfectly sited of all Dorset towns. Deep in Thomas Hardy’s Wessex, the hotel is also on the doorstep of a World Heritage Site - The Jurassic Coast, with its 95 miles of unspoiled coastline, crammed with 185 million years of fossil history. An ideal location for walking holidays in Dorset, Bridge House shares the same stretch of the River Brit made famous by Channel 4’s ‘River Cottage’ series and is surrounded by some of Dorset’s most spectacular countryside The hotel is situated just 50 yards from Beaminster square on the Bridport to Crewkerne road. Here a wealth of small, independent shops, pubs and cafes make it lively and interesting and a great place just to wander, browse and enjoy the traditional, Dorset, hamstone buildings. The hotel can also arrange local activities and adventures such as fossil hunting along the Jurassic Coastline, Llama Trekking, guided walks through Thomas Hardy country, walks with local poets, RIB hire at Lyme Regis, tour of the local brewery or an evening of wine tasting.

Hotel policies

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled up to 7 days before date of arrival, a fixed amount of GBP 25 will be charged.  If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

A fixed amount of GBP 25 per room will be charged on the day of booking and is non-refundable. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

17.5 % VAT is included.  Service charge is not applicable.  City/tourist tax is not applicable. 

Meal Plan

Breakfast is included in the room rate. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 4 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  All children under 2 years are charged GBP 5 per stay for cots.  All older children or adults are charged GBP 25 per night per person for extra beds.  Maximum capacity of extra beds in a room is 2.  Maximum capacity of babycots in a room is 2.
