Area information Newbury and Reading town centres are both approximately 8 miles (13 km) from the hotel. The hotel is 20 miles (32 km) from Ascot, home of the Royal Ascot event, and is very convenient for easy access to nearby Basingstoke, Bracknell and Farnborough. The Kennet and Avon Canal and Visitor Centre are nearby, along with some very attractive countryside walks. For the culture lover, Windsor Castle (30 minutes) can be reached easily, and Newbury Racecourse (10 minutes) is located midway between the hotel and Newbury itself. For a great day's shopping, head for the Oracle Shopping Centre in Reading (10 minutes) which, along with the Riverside Dining and Entertainment Complex, is considered one of the best in the United Kingdom.
