You could also visit the traditional market town of Bury St Edmunds or the beautiful historic city of Cambridge, with the ancient colleges of the university and the Fitzwilliam Museum. Hedingham Castle offers a fascinating insight into Norman times and Moyse's Hall Museum was built in around 1180 and is one of the oldest domestic buildings in East Anglia open to the public. The hall also houses collections of fine art.
Colne Valley Railway has a large and varied collection of operational vintage steam and diesel engines, carriages and wagons. The railway has been lovingly restored and rebuilt. The exhibition centre is operational on most Sundays, and shows how the railway has developed over the years.
