Newcastle Emlyn is in the Teify Valley, West Wales, which is very popular for Salmon and Sewin (migratory trout) fishing, and is in a very central location, providing easy access both to the coast and to the gentle hills, valleys and rivers that are a feature of the region. Carefully modernised, The Emlyn Arms Hotel now has 16 en suite bedrooms, a 50-seat restaurant and 'Neuadd Nest', a traditional Welsh-styled function suite that is licensed for 400, with a seating capacity for 200.

The restaurant at the Emlyn Arms Hotel does not only cater for hotel guests but also welcomes non-resident visitors. It tries to cater for different tastes on both the bar meals and à la carte menu. Where possible, meals are prepared from carefully selected local produce, including some seasonal specialities. On Sundays there is a carvery for traditional Sunday Lunch. A selection of fine wines and a range of beers, including welsh beers, and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are available.

Area information

The River Teifi, which runs through Newcastle Emlyn, is renowned as an excellent river for salmon and sea trout (sewin) fishing and many people visit the area purely to enjoy their favourite pastime. The season for fishing on the River Teifi starts on April 1st and ends on October 17th, and a permit is required.
