Cooked breakfasts and cream teas are available and the hotel has been praised by the Coeliac Society for offering interesting dishes. The restaurant has antique furnishings with doors opening onto the Victorian walled garden dine on the terrace with views of Melford Hall a Tudor mansion Children are welcome at the Black Lion. A children’s menu and highchairs are available and there are toys and rocking horses to play with. Pets are welcome too and the green is suitable for dog walking.

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

A fixed amount of GBP 40 per room will be charged on the day of booking and is non-refundable. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

17.5 % VAT is included.  Service charge is not applicable.  City/tourist tax is not applicable.

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 2 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.  All children under 12 years are charged GBP 35 per night per person for extra beds.  All older children or adults are charged GBP 97.50 per night per person for extra beds.  Maximum capacity of extra beds in a room is 2.  Maximum capacity of babycots in a room is 1.
