Hotel details

For 100 years this picturesque inn has provided Scottish hospitality. Hamish and Vicki Mackinnon and their friendly team continue to promote the inn's motto, 'There are no strangers here, only friends who have never met!' It is hard to find an establishment where you can feel so easily at home. An excellent restaurant and because all dishes are prepared to order, special diets are easily catered for. With wonderful cuisine pleasantly served, a Malt Room with a good selection of whiskies and an impressive range of good value accommodation, you cannot go wrong. Just put the car in the car park and unwind. It is in the country, yet Ayr's racecourse, golf courses and superb fishing are on the doorstep. Staying here allows you maximum enjoyment with minimum effort. Please ask if you require a smoking or non-smoking room. We also have conference facilities, board room style facilities, meeting room and business catering. There is entertainment some nights.

Travel information

Just off theA77, 6 miles southeast of Ayr. Follow the sign post for The Kirkton Inn and Dalrymple - B7034. At the T-junction, the front door of the Kirkton is opposite. The car park is to the left at the rear of the Inn. From Glasgow Prestwick Airport turn right when leaving the Airport. At the first roundabout follow the signs for the A77 SOUTH - Ayr/Stranraer. Stay on this road for a further 5 roundabouts. Approximately 1.6miles after the roundabout you will see signs (B7034) to the left for Dalrymple and the Kirkton Inn.

Area information

The Kirkton Inn is in the village of Dalrymple 6 miles southeast of Ayr, just off the A77. It is said to be the village which inspired the musical the "Brigadoon". It is between two Open Golf Champion Courses, Turnberry and Troon and in the heart of Ayrshires 30+ golf courses. Ayr Racecourse is 6 miles away and excellent salmon and trout fishing on the River Doon is on our doorstep. The town of Ayr 6miles away is a great shopping centre with all the large shops and a selection of good private outlets. Culzean Castle and Counrty Park is 20 minutes away standing impressively on the cliffs overlooking the golden sands of the Firth of Clyde. Scotland's national poet, Robert Burns was born in Alloway only 3 miles from the inn and many tourists do enjoy visiting the tourist centre there. The inn is just off the A77, the main route from Scotland to the Irish Ferry Terminals at Cairnryan and Stranraer.

Hotel policies

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled up to 7 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

A fixed amount of GBP 10 per room will be charged on the day of booking and is refundable. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

VAT is included.  Service charge is included.  City/tourist tax is not applicable. 

Meal Plan

Full English breakfast is included in the room rate. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 2 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  All children under 2 years stay free of charge for cots.  Maximum capacity of total guests in a room is 5.
