The Shoe InnThis 15th-century coaching inn, situated just on the edge of the New Forest on the A36, has been welcoming hungry travellers ever since 1430 and is steeped in history. Today it is a family-run free house with an elegant rustic interior and a pretty terrace garden. The Shoe Inn is renowned for its quality home-cooked food and is the perfect retreat for a relaxing weekend away or a comfortable overnight stop. Each charming en suite bedroom is situated on the first floor, and is equipped with a colour TV and tea/coffee. The Shoe Inn offers a very wide range of quality dishes, including pasta, fish, steaks and Thai curry. It serves food every day, from 12:00 until 21:00.

Your hosts at the Shoe are Kerry and Kevin. Every lunchtime and evening there is an appetising choice of homemade soups and starters, varied main dishes and some irresistible homemade desserts. In good weather, you can enjoy your meal in the attractive beer garden. The Shoe Inn is a free house and has a good selection of draught beers and lagers. At any time, you ‘ll find up to 3 real ales on tap and an extensive choice of wines, spirits and all the usual popular beverages. Entertainment includes pool, dominoes and varied music on Friday evenings. Well behaved dogs are welcome in the bar.

Hotel policies

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, a fixed amount of GBP 20 will be charged.  If cancelled up to 14:00 on the date of arrival, a fixed amount of GBP 20 will be charged.  If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

No deposit will be charged. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

17.5 % VAT is included.  Service charge is not applicable.  City/tourist tax is not applicable. 

Meal Plan

Full English breakfast is included in the room rate. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  One child under 2 years stays free of charge in a baby cot.  One child under 12 years is charged GBP 10 per night and person in an extra bed.  Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.
