The hotel has acquired a deserved reputation for excellence in the conference and business meeting sector primarily because of the care we take in tailoring all arrangements to individual clients' requirements. The stunning Fountain Room enjoys considerable natural daylight with 5 sets of patio doors opening onto private gardens with views of the moor beyond - a perfect combination of functionality and tranquility. With its innovative design, this is a fairly recent addition to the hotel and is ideal for weddings, private functions and conferences/meetings. The main conference room can comfortably able to accommodate 150 delegates theatre style. Syndicate facilities are available in the Music Room and Georgian Room. The Georgian is a magnificent oak-panelled room with ornate hand painted plasterwork and is also perfect for private dinner parties.

The hotel stands at the junction of the Ashburton/Tavistock and Mortonhampstead/Yelverton roads. Tavistock is on the A386, about 20 miles north of Plymouth and on the western edge of Dartmoor in West Devon.

Area information

World famous for its stunning scenery, the Dartmoor National Park is best known for its rocky outcrops, woodlands and wild open stretches of moorland. With over 200 grantite 'tors' to visit you are spoilt for choice. Especially popular is Hound Tor at Grimspound - the setting for Arthur Conan Doyle's 'Hound of the Baskervilles'. Cancellation Policy

If cancelled up to 1 day before the date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

No deposit will be charged. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

17.5 % VAT is included.  Service charge is not applicable.  City/tourist tax is not applicable. 

Meal Plan

Full English breakfast is included in the room rate. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 1 year stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  All children under 2 years are charged GBP 10.00 per night and person for cots.  All older children or adults are charged GBP 25.00 per night and person for extra beds.  Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 2.
