The restored Georgian stables have been recently converted into a state-of-the-art cookery school, run by celebrity chef Rosemary Shrager. Rooms

The bedrooms, on the first and second floors, are individually designed and decorated on the theme of a Yorkshire town, dale, castle, abbey or garden, according to the aspect of the room. For example, the Harrogate room faces south across the lake and deer park whilst the Richmond room faces east overlooking the gatehouse and driveway. All rooms are equipped with 2 direct dial telephones, CD player, satellite TV, trouser press, drinks tray and coffee and tea making facilities. 5 of the 30 bedrooms are suites and the turret room is on 3 floors with a (steep!) staircase between. A lift serves both the first and second floors. 4 of the en suite bathrooms are equipped for disabled use.

Directions from the A1: Take the B6267 off of the A1, signposted Thirsk and Masham, and follow the signs to Masham. Once you reach the town centre, follow the road past the Market Square and HSBC Bank. Take the second right onto Swinton Terrace. This road will lead you past Masham Golf Course and up the hill to the gates of Swinton Park.

Area information

There are a wealth of other attractions and activities within an hour's drive of the hotel for you to explore and enjoy. These include Ripon Cathedral (6 km), the spa town of Harrogate (12 km) and Lightwater Valley theme park (6 km).

Cancellation Policy

If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.  If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged. 

Deposit Policy

No deposit will be charged. 

VAT and city/tourist taxes

17.5 % VAT is included.  Service charge is not applicable.  City/tourist tax is not applicable. 

Meal Plan

Full English breakfast is included in the room rate. 

Children and Extra Bed Policy

All children are welcome.  All children under 4 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.  All children under 2 years are charged GBP 20 per night per person for cots.  All older children or adults are charged GBP 20 per night per person for extra beds.  Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.
