The
Athenaeum enjoys a privileged location in the downtown historical
centre of Florence. We are situated within walking distance from the
most important monuments, from the principal museums, from the main
shopping areas as well as from the fairgrounds and the congress
hall. The museum of the Accademia which houses Michelangelo’s David
is just around the corner: we like to say that “David” is our most
famous neighbor.
We called the Athenaeum a “Personal
Hotel” because it expresses a particular attitude that we have
toward the individual guest which is synthesized by personal
attention to the needs and desires of each traveler who chooses to
stay at our hotel, whether for business purposes or leisure.
The
60 soundproof bedrooms in contemporary design are accessorized with
the finest quality based on international standard: LCD satellite Tv
and high speed Internet connection are some examples.
Our “personalized” services include an
intimate but spacious bar “The GALLERY” and the restaurant
“RIFLESSI”. The newest “happening” in Florentine dining can be found
at our restaurant “Riflessi”. Our chef offers creative innovations
to traditional Tuscan favorites using only the highest-quality
seasonal ingridients.
The center of attraction of the
Athenaeum is our Patio: a very large open air space with terracotta
pavement designed for our guests’ cocktail and dining pleasure. In
this area water is a dominating element as seen and heard from the
waterfalls. This entire patio area is in a glass enclosure revealing
the contemporary design of the building. The presence of many
plants, as well as an arbor creating the effect of a green ceiling,
will make the patio of the Athenaeum an oasis in the heart of the
bustling town.
The Athenaeum also has a meeting-room
very well equipped, including high speed wireless Internet
conncection. Capacity up to 60 people.
Great news for golfers:
our putting green located in a large terrace on the first floor can
be used by our guests to train and keep in good shape during their
stay at the Athenaeum.
