The Villa@Merida

The Villa Merida Boutique Hotel was built in the heart of Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula in the 18th century. The Villa was originally twice its current size, but the building was abandoned, and the family was forced to leave because it was no longer able to keep up with the construction work. In 1999, a talented American artist began a meticulous renovation who transformed the Villa in a Nobleman’s mansion. In 2004, The Villas Group converted the mansion into a private Boutique Hotel Residence and a small luxury hotel in the historic Merida’s district. Today, the Villa Merida has seven rooms, all different, making it feel more like a private home than a hotel.

The guest rooms transmit the ambiance of a colonial mansion with a contemporary work of art. In the true spirit of a Boutique Hotel, all the items in the hotel are for sale. When you are inside of the hacienda you just have a feeling of being at home thanks to an amiable and personalized service. In this Residence you will be able to relax around the pool as well as to discover and explore the city’s rich history and culture. The Villa Merida will make your trip unforgettable.

The hotel has seven rooms, all different, four courtyard rooms and three garden rooms. All the rooms have king size bed except one of the garden room who has 2 queen beds. In the courtyard rooms you can accommodate 2 adults and add up to 2 rollaway beds for children. Two of the garden rooms are ideal for 2 couples or a family because they host a king room and a double queen room and also because of the privacy.

All the bathrooms have been created by a local company called Yucatan Herbal which uses naturally local products such as honey and aloe.

Each room has its own sitting area on a terrace in where you could easily enjoy the ample gardens and the warm weather.
